Senior Dogs Need Forever Homes

These senior dogs need homes. I know mushers don't need a dog that can't run, but think about all the people you know who might be willing to open their homes to one of these dogs. I was able to pet many of them and they are very sweet and snuggled right in. They would be good house dogs for someone who just wants a retired sled dog. And one looks more like an aussie than a sled dog. Mike has been so good to care for these dogs for many years. He needs help to get them to new homes and he's asking for help. All of the females are spayed. Some of the males are neutered. You can call Mike:892-8073 or email him:tundratrekers@mtaonline.net

Lost Sled Dog

Posted 10/23/11- A dog that I rescued last sunday popped his chain today while I was at work. So he is in unfamiliar territory and still has chain hooked to him. I do not have a picture, his name is Steel. A little skittish but friendly. It is on Pittman where he got loose. He was already skinny when I received him so he can probably be caught with food. He is creme and tan.I was told he was a leader so he would probably be trail smart. Can call me on cell (518)366-6307 or call Kathie Smith at musher feed and supply.
Thanks,
Pam

Lost - Sled Dog Willow area

Shadow
Update 11/16/11 - We rec'd a phone call today about an hour ago from a fella who said he thinks he saw Shadow on the southern edge of Long Lake and heading north. Unfortunately this was Sunday morning. So Shadow has expanded his range somewhat. Good to hear he's still alive as we hadn't had a sighting since 10/25.
Update 11/04/11 - Shadow is still missing. Reward for safe return. Click here to read details (PDF)
UPDATE 10/25/11 - We have had recent sightings on Willow Fishhook. He looks very thin. It is better if people call us  instead of approaching him, he will bolt. We have pink and white flyers throughout the area. We are camping in the local area, so we can respond quickly if called @ 746-6306.

Posted 10/17/11 -
Shadow still has not been found and as such we will be heading to Willow Wed. PM to once again camp out and set live traps/check our flyers /drive around w/our 6 wheeler in an attempt to catch him.  Am hoping to stay in the area thru Mon.. Have had no sightings/phone calls in about 12 days now. While this is not atypical, am not sure if he is still in the area and hate to waste time looking in Willow when we should be elsewhere. Am hoping the weather last night will have made him miserable enough to come out again and be spotted.

He should still be in the general area of lower Willow Fishhook (Miles 1-5) and Willow Cr. Pkwy. Our phone # is 746-6306. Thank you so much, ~ Melanie Glatt
