The 8-mile trail is suitable for training. The 3-mile extension ("extra mile") will not be groomed this week and will not be used during the Eagle River Classic.

10 and 12 mile have been groomed. 10 mile inbound groomed but not good for sprint teams. It should be fine for distance teams. 12-mile trail is beautiful other than short section on inbound 10.
Sleds only on main trail system. The groomers are working hard to set up the trails for the upcoming Eagle River Classic sled dog race. Thank you.
The trails have been groomed Junior through 8 mile plus staging area and alternate side Ed's loop. Suitable for ATV's, double-sledding, or slow 3-4 dog teams!
The culverts have been packed with snow - thank you again, Kris Rasey!! Incoming 10-mile trail has been brushed, kudos to KP, Kris, and Kim Wells. We packed the entire alternate side: staging area, inlet loop, Dee Lake loop, and all connectors. The trail is bumpy with little snow. The inlet is mostly bare ice but rough enough that dogs shouldn't slip. Other than the 3-mile Ed's Loop, this side is not suitable for sprint teams!
-Jim & Susan Cantor Packed thru 8 mi. with the help of Kim Wells.
2 mi. Is packed AND rolled -Kris Editor's note: Nasty crust on non-groomed sections of trail - booties recommended! Trails reopened, all sides. We only got 2” !! But it’s runnable with atvs ! Better than ice!
-KP It's 40 degrees in Chugiak, trails are melting and soft. Please help us preserve what's left by training elsewhere during this warm spell.
Trails remarkably smooth for ATV training - thank you Kris, KP and Scott for keeping them like a highway. The 8 mile hill (home-bound) is an icy freefall. I removed two small downed trees between the top of the 8 and 10 mile turn. There are 2 chunks of ice frozen into the inlet trail, probably need to reroute the trail.
-Christine Roalofs Kris and Scott Maruskie packed trails in the staging area, Junior trail, Gee-haw trail, and 8 miles of the main trail system. The trail is still very bumpy between the 6-8 mile trails. ATVs are still allowed on the trails until further notice. Hopefully we will get more snow by the end of the week.
