  • Limited classes: 8:30 am
  • 10-dog Class: 10:00 am 
Race Start:
2-dog skijor (2 mi):
  • 9:00 am start​
3-dog recreational class (2 mi)
  • Starts 15 min. after last skijor finishes  ​
4-dog class (4 mi):
  • Starts 15 min. after last 3-dog team finishes
​6-dog class (6 mi):
  • Starts 15 min. after last 4-dog team finishes 
​10-dog class (14 mi):
  • Starts 15 min. after last 6-dog team finishes​​
Weather permitting...  CDMA race rules currently do not have temperature cut-offs.  As concern has been expressed by the membership, the Board of Directors has approved the following for the Eagle River Classic:

A decision to cancel or slightly delay the race (day) will be made on Saturday morning at 8 am and again on Sunday morning at 8 am, with the temperature taken at the Chugiak track by the CDMA clubhouse. 

  • If it is -20 degrees F or colder, the race (day) will be canceled.  
  • If it is between -19 and -15 degrees F, the race start will be delayed by 1 hour.
 
If the race is cancelled on both days, we will issue a full refund of entries.
If only one day is cancelled, we will not be issuing refunds as the full purse will be applied to the race.
 
Please note that the race starts at 9:00 am each day. As in 2025, the 10-dog class will again take the place of the former 8-dog and open classes.

HEALTH ADVISORY

Please follow these simple rules to keep our trails and facilities free of contagious diseases for dogs and humans.
  • Do not train or race on CDMA trails if you or your dogs are sick
  • Always clean up after your dogs in the staging area.
We are happy to refund your entry fee if you or your dogs are sick on race day.
