We packed the entire alternate side: staging area, inlet loop, Dee Lake loop, and all connectors. The trail is bumpy with little snow. The inlet is mostly bare ice but rough enough that dogs shouldn't slip. Other than the 3-mile Ed's Loop, this side is not suitable for sprint teams!
